  • Unexplained bleeding in early pregnancy.
  • Pelvic pain in early pregnancy. Before the advent of  ultrasound, the doctor have difficult in confirming the cause of pelvic pain due to ovarian cyst, abortion, fibroid.
  • Severe nausea and vomiting.
  • Possible miscarriage / ectopic pregnancy in early pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancy is a life threatening condition. Ultrasound can suggest it by the present of fluid in pelvis and absent of pregnancy in uterus.
